梅安（緒形拳）と千蔵（津坂匡章）は、町田屋伊兵衛（石浜祐次郎）の依頼で、娘志乃（本田みちこ）をキリシタンの道に誘い込んだ神父を殺しに京へ上った。志乃と恋仲の竹造（河原崎長一郎）と隠れ家へ走ったが、取締り役人谷田（穂積隆信）ら捕り手に囲まれた。谷田は志乃と結婚することになっていた。伊兵衛は禁制の南蛮品を扱っており、政略結婚だったのだ。金もうけの邪魔だと、梅安は追手を退けるが澄んだ神父の目にハリを持つ手が動かない。その間に、谷田は伊兵衛の悪計をなじって殺してしまう。梅安はなぜか、再び志乃たちを追い、脱出を助けるが捕えられ、四条河原でハリツケされることになった。
