Ο Στέργιος Λιακόπουλος είναι ιδιοκτήτης μεγάλης ναυτιλιακής εταιρείας. Eίναι παντρεμένος με την Ελένη κι έχουν ένα γιό, τον 25χρονο Φώτη, που τελειώνει τις σπουδές του στο εξωτερικό και προορίζεται να αναλάβει τα ηνία της εταιρείας. Η σχέση του Στέργιου και της Ελένης είναι κουρασμένη. Την αγαπάει και εκείνη το ίδιο, αλλά η ρουτίνα τους έχει απομακρύνει ερωτικά. Ο Στέργιος έχει δεσμό με την κατά πολύ νεότερή του Ράνια που δουλεύει στην ναυτιλιακή εταιρεία. Έχει παθιαστεί μαζί της και η Ράνια ξέρει να τον χειρίζεται. Η εμφάνιση του Φώτη στην εταιρεία και η ξεκάθαρη πρόθεση του Στέργιου να τον έχει δίπλα του και σταδιακά να του αναθέσει την θέση του διευθυντή, δημιουργούν ανησυχία στη Ράνια καθώς αντιλαμβάνεται ότι θα χάσει τα προνόμια…
