Η Ερμίνα, χήρα εδώ και μια δεκαετία, ζει με τον 25χρονο γιο της τον Άγη σε μια βίλα στα βόρεια προάστια. Η κληρονομιά που τους άφησε ο εκλιπών τους επιτρέπει να ζουν με ανέσεις και πολυτέλεια. Η Κατερίνα, μια νεαρή κοπέλα καλοσυνάτη και θετική, έρχεται από το νησί της στην Αθήνα για να βρει δουλειά. Μια φίλη της Ερμίνας, η Άρτεμις, συστήνει τη Κατερίνα ως δουλευταρού και εχέμυθη. Την προσλαμβάνουν λοιπόν ως εσωτερική, για να αναλάβει τα πάντα. Δουλειά όλο το 24ωρο. Η Κατερίνα νιώθει τυχερή που θα δουλέψει σ’ αυτό το υπέροχο σπίτι, με τόσο ευγενικούς εργοδότες. Μέχρι που η Ερμίνα και ο Άγης αρχίζουν να δείχνουν το πραγματικό τους πρόσωπο.
