柴田ミチコ（深田恭子）は３０歳。勤めていた会社が突如倒産して職を失い、就活も連敗中。無職なのに年下の男に貢ぎ続けて貯金も底をついた。何もないが肉は食べたい。そんな中、前の職場でいつもミチコを罵倒するため怖くて大嫌いだった元上司・黒沢歩（ディーン・フジオカ）と偶然再会する。彼は祖母が営んでいた喫茶店「ひまわり」のマスターになっていた。ミチコは生きていくために（食べていくために）「ひまわり」でアルバイトを始めるが、以前の関係と同様、こき使われバカにされる毎日。しかし、彼が作るオムライスや大人様ランチなどのおいしい料理への欲望には勝てずにいる。ミチコは日々、さまざまなトラブルに見舞われる中、無愛想ながらも手を差し伸べてくれる黒沢の今までとは違う一面を目の当たりにし…。
