主人公平尾隆之介(竹野内丰饰)在剧中饰演一位在广告制作会社工作的老好人。盛夏时，他与大学朋友去海边游玩，认识了小谷千代(广末凉子饰)扮演的百货公司店员。在夏夜的海边两人发生了“一夜情”。结果小谷千代怀孕了，当她将此事告知平尾隆之介，并问道：“我可以生下来吗？”惊慌失措的平尾隆之介决定担起责任，与小谷千代奉子成婚。
