Yaver Riza incites the Egyptians against Şemse, who, overwhelmed by the pressure, decides to leave Cairo. Saladin, while preparing for a move against the Crusaders, is also on the verge of making a significant decision regarding Şemse. The events at the wedding greatly impact the Crusaders. Chatillon goes mad upon learning a terrible truth about Mila, who seeks refuge with Saladin. Amalrik aims to protect his alliance with Byzantium by assigning the Count of Ibelin. Balian devises a clever plan that might damage his friendship with Saladin.
